Food
Keep the tricks, here’s the treat!
Happy almost Halloween everyone!
This is my absolute favorite day of the year because it gives me an excuse to eat all the candy 🙂 If you’ve been with me for a while, you know that I love food. I don’t discriminate, I love it all! Especially sweets. It still surprises me how many people say things like, “Aren’t you a personal trainer? You’re not supposed to eat that…” UM. Hello. I’m a person too. I have cravings just like everyone else! Honestly, I got lucky that I love to workout because if I didn’t I’d be in trouble… LOL. Like, I eat ALOT. A LOT. Plus, I got a new apron so I needed to bake something so I could wear it 😉
So, with that being said, my favorite treat to make this time of year is Slutty Brownies! No, they’re not actually slutty…. but they are scary good. Usually they’re made with cookie dough, Oreos and brownie batter but I wanted to put a Halloween spin on it so I replaced the Oreos with Halloween candy! I chose my 3 favorites: Snickers, Reese’s and Kit Kats!
You’ll need to get:
–1 box of your favorite brownie mix
–chocolate candy of your choice
–1 roll of Tollhouse cookie dough (you could also make your own if you’d like)
Mix up the Brownie batter as called for on the box.
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Line a cupcake pan with liners or grease the cups with vegetable oil.
Scoop the same amount of cookie dough that you’d normally use when making cookies, but press it into the bottom of each liner to form the first layer.
Unwrap your candies and press into the cookie dough.
Scoop your brownie batter in so that it is just under the bottom of the liner.
Place in the oven for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Let cool. Unwrap your slutty brownie cupcakes, gobble down and prepare for your sugar coma 🙂
NOTE: With the candy I used, each Slutty Brownie Cupcake is approximately 350 calories. (aka well worth it!)
ENJOY! Let me know if you try it!
Until next time…
