It’s December and Christmas is approaching! This time of year, shoppers are hunting for the perfect gift for their loved ones. Have you finished your shopping yet? I’d be impressed if you have. If you’re like me, you haven’t even started. So, what is the perfect gift to give? It’s a little out of the box, but it’s also something just about anyone could use. Give the gift of personal training; Give the gift of fitness!

Reasons Personal Training is the Perfect Gift

Instruction

A trainer can teach proper form and technique to someone who may be unsure of equipment/exercise routine. While this is a top selling point for trainers, there are several others as well.

Safety/Progression

Once a person is aware of how equipment works and becomes familiar with their routine, they may then need help to progress. “Where do I go from here? It’s getting a little easy. What do I need to change?” You want to be careful to not go too heavy too fast. You never want to sacrifice form. A slow and steady progression is the best way to see results while ensuring your form/safety. 

Motivation.

I’ve seen the need for this in almost all of of my own clients at some point or another. Sometimes when you workout on your own you slack off or don’t exercise as hard as you could or should. A large part of a trainer’s job is to motivate, inspire and encourage. It’s not always going to be easy, but your trainer will keep you on track. This leads me to my next reason.

Accountability.

I’ve also had many of my clients tell me that they never would have come in if they didn’t have an appointment with me. In my experience of training clients online, this still works the same. My online clients expect me to ask them how their workouts are going. They’re still held accountable. Having a trainer to keep you accountable will keep you on track to a healthier life.

Comfort.

The gym can be an intimidating place for some people. This feeling usually comes from being unsure of yourself. A personal trainer will make sure you know what to do and how to do it which usually improves comfort level. Always remember, NO ONE is there to judge you. We all have to start somewhere.

Time Saving/Efficiency.

Most of my clients are very busy people. I’ve trained hard working women, travelling businessmen, full-time college students and busy full-time working parents. The last thing you need to do is waste time at the gym trying to figure out what exercises to do or what equipment to use. Walking into the gym without a plan is a time waster, and usually results in a lousy workout. A laid out, structured routine will get you the most out of your time and money.

A gift of Fitness and Love

There’s hardly anything in this world that is more important than your health. Someone said to me, “I don’t want to offend ‘insert name’. I think it’s a great idea, but if I buy them personal training they might feel insulted. ”

I understand where you’re coming from. Health can be a touchy subject, but think of it this way. You care about your loved ones. You want them to live long, healthy, and happy lives. Giving the gift of personal training will not only make them healthier but happier as well. It’s incredible how good working out can make you feel, wouldn’t you want to receive it as a gift yourself?
